Get Your Canadian Study Permit Faster if You're from One of These 14 Countries

A study permit is required to study in Canada. Processing time for the standard route of study permit application is about 7 weeks. However, it is possible to get your Canadian study permit faster - in as little as 20 calendar days - if you're a legal resident of certain countries.

The Student Direct Stream (SDS) is open to legal residents of the following countries:

• Antigua and Barbuda

• Brazil

• China

• Colombia

• Costa Rica

• India

• Morocco

• Pakistan

• Peru

• Philippines

• Senegal

• Saint Vincent and the Grenadines

• Trinidad and Tobago

• Vietnam

However, if you live anywhere other than 1 of the countries listed above (even if you’re a citizen of one of the countries above), you must apply through the regular study permit application process. There are, of course, other requirements which must be met before your application will be accepted and processed.
